With all the talk of the STARDOM Five Star Grand Prix, the stars of international women’s wrestling align for this tournament that will start on August 24th and run through September 23rd. STARDOM Champion Io Shirai, Kairi Hojo, Kaori Yoneyama, Alpha Female, Yoshiko, Takumi Iroha, Kyoko Kimura, Star Fire, Nanae Takahashi, and recently the reigning SHIMMER Champion from the good ol’ USA Cheerleader Melissa will participate in a month long competition to see who is the best in the world of women’s wrestling.
The Five Star Grand Prix is worked under round-robin rules as competitors are divided into two blocks, Red Stars or Blues Stars. Beginning on August 24th, competitors will work their way through their respective blocks with the winners facing off in the finals on September 23rd; 31 days after the first day of the Grand Prix. A win equates to two points, a draw is one point and a loss amounts to zero. Sounds simple, don’t it? With the stars like Io Shirai, who battled the likes of Alpha Female and Melissa before and persevered; as well as Alpha Female, whose dominance in women’s wrestling in Europe as well as Japan has gotten noticed as if late; and Cheerleader Melissa, who is one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world and looking to add this tournament victory on her much impressive resume. Whoever wins this tournament will be considered one of women’s wrestling’s best.
I wish nothing but the best for the competitors as they compete for 31 days to become one of the best in women’s wrestling.
